Jack Dowding Pin Badges Worn By The Worlds Best PDC Dart Pros!

JDF Pin Badges Worn By PDC

During this seasons PDC Premier League of darts the players were invited to wear custom pin badges to raise awareness for the Jack Dowding Foundation which as you all know raises fantastic and much needed funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.

The players, you could argue are the current top 8 players in the world right now. Among them world number one and JDF supporter Micheal Van Gerwen.

We are very pleased to see all the players wear the badges on the night.

The total funds raised has now surpassed the £12,000 target we set earlier in the year. Thanks very much to the PDC players for wearing these badges and helping the cause.

The target has now been raised to an incredible £15,000. There are plenty more fundraisers coming up so hopefully this target can get reached too!

The pin badges are made by The Badge Man Ltd and are available to buy on request for £2 each. Contact us here on the website or speak with Loz if you would like some.

Tribute Dugouts Unveiled at Jack’s College In Special Memorial Day

April 25th saw an event at the Taunton College sports ground in Hill Lane. The event was a memorial football match between staff, students and other friends.

At the occasion Saints defender Sam McQueen gratefully helped alongside Jack’s immediate family the unveiling of new dugouts for the pitches. On the dugouts are Jack’s logo and website. They really do look great.

A really nice gesture and fitting tribute to Jack who as we all know was a mad Saints fan!

This tribute is another showing of just how well Jack was loved by many in and around his community.

Cracking Night At The Darts As Jack’s Team Clean Up!

jacks team clean up at the darts

The summer 2017 season ended with a boom as Jack’s team Hedge End Club ended up winners of the division 1.

It was a tough season with a few ups and downs but they got over the line. Jack’s Dad Laurence hit the winning double in the last league match of the season to secure the points meaning Hedge End Club were out of reach and had won the league.

A fitting end you could say.

The silverware didn’t stop there and the team were not finished yet.

On finals night representatives from the team were also in the Singles and Doubles competitions.

Steve Perren took on Dean Cole (Bishops Waltham) in the semi final of his singles. After winning that he then went on to beat Roger Jeans (Park Gate) in the final after a nail-biting finish.

Massive well done to Steve.

Next up was the doubles competition. Steve Perren again was involved with his partner and Jack’s dad Laurence Dowding.

These two won this competition in the Winter and looked to make it back to back doubles winners.

They delivered and won the event again!

They beat Andy Spreadbury and Colin Rich (Bold Forester) and then went on to win in other close contest against Andy Reynolds and Alan Sawyer (Black Dog)

They also picked up the prize for the quickest pairs leg throughout the season – a quality 12 darter.

They have carved out a bit of a reputation in this competition now and will no doubt look to extend this run in the future competitions.

It means a lot to them both winning this as Steve and Loz go back many years and have been close friends for a long time.

Great stuff champs!

Other awards included the quickest singles leg won by John Banks, and Steve Perren again picked up two more honours – the most 180s and highest outshot 170.

They don’t come much higher than that.

So a full clean sweep.

Every event Hedge End Club entered this season they won!

Jack would have been very proud of his team this season.

A cracking season, full of great laughs, a few heated debates (which is good) and some blinding arrows.

Here’s to a few more….
